Social Housing Provider: 13000 Homes

 

Project Brief: Health & Safety Development CDM cradle to grave review.

 

Key Achievements: Initial briefing and document review: understand the existing arrangements, and undertake an initial review of key documents: e.g., Health & Safety Policy, CDM safety procedures, safe ways of working, health and safety KPIs, etc. A document request list is included at the end of this proposal.

​

Interviews: meet with the appropriate managerial and operational CDM and health & safety staff.

​

Submission of a report identifying strengths and weaknesses around CDM 2015 compliance, we were then asked to aid with improving their understanding and compliance to CDM 2015.

Renovated and renewed complex of blocks

Social Housing Provider: 6100 Homes

 

Project Brief: To undertake a review of all employee health & safety systems, create an action plan and deliver plan, as well as deliver an internal H&S Manager role.

​

Project Date: April 2018 – Current Contract due to end 2022

 

Key Achievements: Full engagement through a Management & Staff H&S ownership program 24-month action plan.

​

Full review and implementation of new H&S Policy.

​

Bespoke internally developed H&S management system utilising Microsoft 365, which included new accident and new miss reporting, auditable communication methods for risk assessments and toolbox talks.

​

Full training needs analysis.

​

Full review, development and implementation of CDM new ways of working across all CDM including Development and Repairs & Maintenance.

​

Deliver the H&S Manager role due to no internal H&S role.

Project Brief: To undertake a review of all employee health & safety systems, create an action plan and deliver plan, as well as deliver an internal H&S Manager role.

 

Project Date: December 2019 – Current Contract due to end 2021

Key Achievements: Undertook a full health and safety audit.

​

Developed road map and action plan based on key findings.

Presented results to Board.

​

Full engagement through a Management & Staff H&S ownership program.

​

Parking Lot

Civils/Surfacing Company: 20 Employees. Based in Manchester.

​

Project Brief: To provide all health & safety systems and work in partnership to deliver the company H&S obligations, including managing and delivering training requirements.

​

Key Achievements: As an external function we have provided all elements of a Health & Safety department. We have provided these services for many years.

​

This started with an audit in line with HSG65 then the careful creation of company-specific Policies and Procedures that worked in line with the way the organisation operated.

​

The creation and implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements that meet legal requirements as well as best practices where possible.

​

The management of training requirements to ensure that all employees are adequately trained, helping to create a safe and secure workplace.

​

Regular site inspections and empowering operatives to report hazards and seeing the benefit of doing so in the prevention of major accidents.

​

Annual HSG 65 Audit as well as quarterly progress reports detailing progress against SMART Objectives. SMAS, CHAS, Local Authority Tenders

Reinforcing Steel

Steel Fabricator/ Steel Erector/Groundworks Company: 50 Employees. Based in Tarporley

Project Brief: To provide all health & safety systems and work in partnership to deliver the companies H&S obligations, including managing and delivering training requirements.

​

Key Achievements: As an external function we have provided all elements of a Health & safety department. We have provided these services for many years.

​

Creation and continual review of company specific Policies and Procedures that work in line with the way the organisation operate.

​

The creation and implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements that meet legal requirements as well as best practice where possible.

​

The management of training requirements to ensure that all employees are adequately trained, helping to create a safe and secure workplace.

​

Quarterly Health and Safety meetings where all employees and contractors have a voice and a chance to raise concerns around Health and Safety.

​

Regular site and workshop inspections, empowering operatives to report hazards and seeing the benefit of doing so in the prevention of major accidents.

Road Constuction

Civils/Surfacing Company: 25 Employees. Based in Manchester

 

Project Brief: To provide all health & safety systems and work in partnership to deliver the company H&S obligations, including managing and delivering training requirements.

​

Key Achievements: As an external function we have provided all elements of a Health & Safety department. We have provided these services for over 10 years.

​

This started with an audit and meetings with personnel at all levels of the organisation to gauge where they were in terms of Health and Safety and set out a road map following a gap analysis.

​

The creation and implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements that meet legal requirements as well as the best practices where possible and communicating these key documents to all so that they reflect the work being carried out.

​

The management of training requirements to ensure that all employees are adequately trained, helping to create a safe and secure workplace.

​

Regular site inspections and empowering operatives to report hazards and seeing the benefit of doing so in the prevention of major accidents.

​

Regular meetings with clients to ascertain their opinions on the work being carried out and any areas of success or improvement.

Project Brief: To provide all health & safety systems and work in partnership to deliver the companies H&S obligations, including managing and delivering training requirements

 

Key Achievements: As an external function we have provided all elements of a Health & safety department. We have provided these services for 7 years.

​

This started with an audit in line with HSG65 then careful creation of company specific Policies and Procedures that worked in line with the way the organisation operated.

​

Careful analysis of work methods and encouraging communication with other contractors around areas of work, this helped to develop a daily hazard form which is completed prior to work starting.

​

The management of training requirements to ensure that all employees are adequately trained, helping to create a safe and secure workplace.

​

Regular site inspections and meetings with clients at Jaguar Land Rover factories throughout England.

Brick House

Civil engineering/Housebuilding Company: 65 Employees

 

Project Brief: Deliver a full health and safety management service in line with the Plan Do Check Act system. Complete construction site inspections and act as CDMM Advisor

 

Key Achievements: As an external function we have provided all elements of a Health & safety department.

​

This started with an in-depth review of the organisations existing Health and Safety Management Systems to identify areas of improvement along with careful analysis of existing working methods to ensure that adequate Safe Systems of Work are in place so that work activities can be carried out safely.

​

Also, ensuring that the organisation complies with its duties as a Principal Contractor including assisting in the setting up of sites in accordance with the CDM 2015 regulations.

​

The creation and implementation of project specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements that meet legal requirements as well as best practice where possible.

​

Regular site visits to identify any potential hazards to enable the implementation of corrective action to prevent accidents from occurring.

​
